Hes One.And Then Two

Now after his 1st birthday, he could say quite a few words, walk and almost fully run. But he didn't know that in the next year he would go without Dada around for a few months, move, and go on a lot more vacations. He went to the farm in WV many more times, also to the beach, both Carolina beach and Myrtle beach. We also got to meet some new family. We traveled up to Virgina and traveled the blue ridge all the way down to the end. we then ended up in SC . so we called grandma Cathy, to see where my MEME lives and we decided to stop by, haven't seen her in over 2/3 years,so we did. he loved meeting her,and he was on his best behavior to. That year he also met his great Aunt Sue and Uncle Len. Got to see meme again and meet cousin Kelly and her family. Later that year(September) Dada left for the Army,no one knew he'd be back in November tho. That's another posting for why hes hurt now. We also moved in April of 08( but he was still one so it doesn't count as the next year.) He missed his N&P but he loves when they come visit. When we first moved we had to explain to him the this was now 'our home' and N&P have to go back to 'their home'. Finally he got to understanding it. He had is 2nd birthday party here, he was so surprised when everyone started singing happy birthday to him. From then on he tells everybody happy birthday, sometimes even out of no where on no ones birthday. He loves going to WV, he outside all the time, gets to ride the big 4 wheeler and his small one. he has this huge field to run in instead of a small back yard that's shard. He was scared of the ocean for quite some time, but he loves pools. The way he has changed from birth to now is unbelievable. Hes grown so much both physically and intellectually, and they say babies can not be smart, that they cant do this that and what not-s. i disagree on so much because i have watch my son grow in such a way that its truly unexplainable. Now that hes two(and 4 months) and you read a bit about his first few years I'm hoping to keep up with my blog, share our stories with everyone, and read all of yours. I guess my next post will be about the holidays and getting up some pictures

here is a picture from the blue ridge, its my two men fishing(couldn't catch nothing on the blue ridge so we took a detour and went to a stocked pond nearby)

.

this is his 1st carousel ride, we where at Broadway at the beach in Myrle beach,SC

here we are at wal-mart, he want to ride the air plain so we put him in it, put the quarter in and oops, now we have a crying screaming tot who wants out the air plain, we tried calming him down in it, but there was no use, he needed out, hench the face.

The First Year

Ill be honest, the first year of Sammy's life flew by me like it never existed. Theirs a million pictures I have on c.d,film, and the computer but they wouldn't all fit. So ill have them for a later post and for now just add a few and a lot of text. When we brought our little man home from the hospital I had major headaches till i got the blood patch, after that I was fine, but I missed his first day or so at home. He didn't really open his eyes much for me the first week or two but he did for his Dada. As he got older, month by month, well even by week he was learning so much. Then he did it, he rolled over.He hit almost every mile stone before he hit the age.
We went on a lot of trips to before he even turned one year, he went to the beach here in NC, West Virgina, and even the zoo. His first Halloween, he was a puppy. He made a great puppy to, he was about 3 months old then, had no idea he was even dressed up like a dog. Christmas,he was about 5 months or so, we got him a Santa outfit. Oh he was the best looking Santa you'd ever seen. His first birthday I made him a small cake all for him, we all went to the park near our church ( Living Water ) and he got so many things including a bubble lawn mower and a convertible bike(goes from a bike to a rocking bike ) he still loves playing with all his presents from his 1st birthday.

He grew up fast from birth to age one. Couldn't believe it, just a few months before he was just starting to roll and hold up his head, then crawl and fall down walking. I thank God everyday that he is healthy and full of love and joy. now his next year was pretty crazy, but youll just have to wait to read about it.

below are a few photos from his 1st year i have saved on the computer.yep, hes a screamer he didn't like the hat, but he did like being nakie on papas table.then theirs the one where hes UBBER small and taking a nap tucked under my arm.The on with him under the tree is his first Christmas, sleeping under the tree, so peaceful.

Sammy's birth

My labor story: It was just a another night we where sleeping out in the small trailer in my in laws yard at the time. I kept wakening up that night didn't think nothing of it just kept trying to go back to sleep. It was about 3 maybe 4 in the morning, and I gave up my baby was not going to let me go to sleep, so I sat down at the table in the other room, turned on the laptop and played Super Collapse 3, my game of choice at the time. After a few hours I finally realized that this could be it, my baby wanted out, or so I thought. I woke Sam up told him whats been going on, so he was ready to go, hoping to drive a fast as possible, but I was not ready.I wanted to walk. So we walked around our front yard for, maybe 5-10 minutes, contractions were getting close. very close. Not even 2 minutes apart. So we woke up his parents, called the doctor, they said to come in. By the time we were in the car I was having bad contraction, with a very bad picture to go with them.On the way to the hospital I would not let him drive fast at all, I'm guessing now it was my unconscious was of making my labor longer. So we finally we get there, and park. NO I was NOT letting him get me a wheelchair, I was determined to walk. Well a nurse seen me and got me one even tho we were 10 feet from the door( soo close ) We got in and they checked me in, by that time I was glad I had a chair. In the delivery room they gave me a iv with a drug that made me feel drunk and talk a lot about..well I don't remember, I never really did remember what all I said. Then they checked me, 6cm dilated.wow. even the nurse said that was unusual, most people come in 1 or 2 cm and screaming. nope not me, painful but yes, I do think I have had worse. I called my mom, she said shed be on her way. I talked to the doctor, because I was almost 9 cm dilated and I wanted my mom to be there for the birth of my baby, She said the baby was not in distress and waiting would be fine. So we all waited and waited. She got there on time. 10cm dilated, I could push. Oh wait no I couldn't, the epidural worked a little to well. I didn't feel it go in and it numbed me from my ribs down. The doctor had to suction my baby boy out,and she did it a few to many times, my baby came out with a cone head, but that was fine at the time he was healthy and man he looked handsome. So yes they messed up my epidural(wet tap with horrible headaches for almost a week after birth), I vomited a few times, they suctioned my baby, and they gave me a doctor I requested not to have, but hes healthy and at the time that's all that mattered. My after labor story is a lot shorter. Like I said they messed up my epidural, they drew fluid from my spine gave me headaches to the pont I couldn't even sit up to hold my son! sent me home a few days later then planned just because I wanted to wait and see if they would subsided with out getting a blood patch. so I finally went home,3 or 4 days later(most of what I slept by) we went back to the hospital, had the blood patch, and I was good to go. I wish I would have done it in the 1st place, I wouldn't of missed those first few days of my sons life. I cant change it, I can just enjoy all the time with him now that I can.
above right is Sam holding little Sammy, wow how much they both have changed.above left is little Sammy, he had jaundice so he was our little glow worm for a few days with his adorable pop out tummy.to the left right he is my borther, such a pround uncle he is.

The Beginning

My cousin Sheryl's blog (can be viewed here ) has inspired me to finish this. My son is two years and four months old now.Me and my husband have been married one year and a half also. We've tried many times to keep up with a few websites dedicated to our family but we never really did. So now I am going to blog. My son was born August 18th 2006,that day has stuck with me like it just happened yesterday.but that's another post. Ill try to back up 2 and a half years for the next few posts and go over whats been going on with the H3's (short for Harris 3's). The picture on the right is me, before I was pregnant .And the one next to me is the oldest one I could find of my husband.
